To be fair
Hootsuite does a lot Ego never will: multi-brand management, multi-person approval, mention monitoring, consolidated reporting. For a five-person marketing team running six networks, it is a sound tool and the price makes sense.
Our verdict
The entry prices differ by a factor of eleven, for two different problems. If you are one person publishing on your own LinkedIn profile, you would be paying Hootsuite for team infrastructure you would never touch — and still writing your posts yourself.
